Good morning Designers,
Please read this entire post before you begin your work.
Today, you will be using Khan Academy in pairs to learn about balancing chemical equations.
To begin, grab a laptop per pair from Ms. Chen and please watch the following video: Chemical Reactions Introduction
Afterwards, using the navigation bar on the left, please watch "Balancing Chemical Equations" and "Visually Understanding Balancing Chemical Equations"
Watched enough videos? Let's try some practice! Please go to "Balancing Chemical Equations Intuition" and "Balancing Chemical Equations I" and try them out. There are helpful hints throughout if you don't understand why an answer is correct.
At this point, you should all have a decent understanding of balancing chemical equations. In your Notes pocket, on pages 4.6 and 4.7, you'll see an intro to MY method for balancing chemical equations. Although I'm unfortunately not here to explain it to you, I would like you to try out the practice IN PENCIL. We'll review when I get back.
Lastly, your homework is pages 5 and 6 of your Homework packet. You've all been keeping up, RIGHT??
If you have any questions, please ask your peers first, and then shoot me an email. I can't guarantee when I'll be able to respond, but I'll do my best. Also, Ms. Parsons may stop by during class. She used to teach Chemistry, so feel free to ask her if you need some assistance.
Keep making me proud!
Best,
Mr. Itow
